Microsoft SharePoint: WSS 3.0 login and Windows login

Hello everyone,

I am starting to learn wss 3.0 and I still have some unanswered questions about it.

I have set up wss 3.0 on a windows server 2003. My goal is to make available to users, a form created on Infopath 2003.

When a user uses someone else's windows (XP) session to log on to wss website and creates a new form item, the "created by" field displays the owner of the windows session instead of the one logged on wss.

I hope that was clear. Basically, it seems to me that the windows session overrules the wss session when it comes to using clients software (like Infopath 2003).

Does anyone know a way to avoid that?

Thank you so much for your help.

Best Regards,

David

Browser and client appication are 2 different processes and they don't pass user's identity between each other.

If you want to get a proper user's identity you can use "run as" functionality of Windows and run a client application under the other user's account.
