Hello,
I have a problem with windows 95. When I start my computer it always reverts back to January 1st 1997 each time I reboot or restart my computer. I don't seem to be able to keep the correct date and time in the computer once its shut down... Any help would be appreciated thanks

Hi! There should be settings in the Control Panel for the date and time. Have you checked these out yet?

hiya xico.
yes I change the date every day in settings. that works during the time I have my computer on. my problem is when I turn my computer off and on again that is when the 2004 date disappears and 1997 reappears. I assume it has something to do with the bios

Check the battery. If you don't have a meter, just remove the battery (it looks like a coin) from the motherboard and take it to a local electronics store, like Radio Shack. They will be happy to check it and sell you a replacement if necessary.

Thanks, I'll check out my battery, I think you hit it on the nail

Come back and tell us if that solved the problem, okay?

If the OS is Win95, likely it is pretty old anyway. It's amazing those batteries last this long. Luckily the solution is pretty inexpensive.
